Faculty
Tindley’s faculty members have different levels of experience. Some have taught for decades; others are recent graduates. But they all share a zealous commitment to the Tindley mission and, most importantly, to doing whatever it takes to guide students toward academic success.
At Tindley, classrooms are regarded as sacred spaces of learning. Therefore, teachers are given tremendous support to preserve the learning environment. They are encouraged to send students
to the office for behavioral and other disciplinary issues. In many schools, classroom management is a major issue. At Tindley, teachers teach and the administrators handle any issue that might impede learning allowing Tindley’s faculty members to focus on the ambitious goals set for each class.
Professional development is a key component of Tindley’s environment. Every Friday afternoon Tindley’s faculty members participate in discussions, seminars and training that are directly related to the Tindley environment. Working together and with expert assistance, they confront and problem solve the problems they are facing at Tindley.
Faculty members are passionate and vocal about what draws them to Tindley and what they believe makes the Tindley environment so distinctive.
